Welcome to my digital corner. I am a Senior Software Engineer, an Open Source creator, and an undergraduate Philosophy student.
Who am I?
My name is João Victor Botelho Gonçalves. I’ve spent over 8 years in the software industry, navigating through distributed systems, full-stack development, and application security. From architecting high-performance C#/.NET backends to getting my hands dirty with AppSec and Red Teaming, I thrive on breaking systems, building tools, and understanding exactly why things work the way they do.
Beyond the code, I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Philosophy. I believe that engineering and philosophy are deeply intertwined—both are fundamentally about structuring logic, questioning assumptions, and solving complex problems.
When I’m not developing tools or studying, you can usually find me traveling to new places or hanging out with cats.
What I do
- Software Engineering & Architecture — I specialize in C#/.NET, gRPC, Clean Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD), building scalable and low-latency distributed systems.
- Security & AppSec — I have a strong focus on offensive security, white-box pentesting, and DevSecOps. I enjoy finding vulnerabilities and building mechanisms to prevent them.
- Open Source — I am the creator of projects like RASP.Net (a zero-allocation Runtime Application Self-Protection engine), skewrun, and GhostHound.
- Full-Stack & Cloud — I also work with Angular on the frontend and design cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across Azure and Kubernetes.
